I find that often, photos of things on the periphery of an event can be just as telling, or certainly as interesting, as photos of the event itself. Last weekend I was able to steal away to the Viva Las Vegas rockabilly weekend at the Orleans to bask in the Dax Wax, fashion and sounds of an era being kept alive by passionate fans from around the world. On my way to the car show from the showroom, I detoured to my car to grab some water and came across Catie Darby of Las Vegas putting the finishing touches on New Yorker Lorna Jackson’s hairdo. I always enjoy it when I can find something incongruous that also tells a bit of the story.
