Spring is officially here: The temperature is rising, pollen is all over our cars, and local CD releases are popping up like wildflowers.
Local punk-rockers The Mapes might not appreciate being compared to flowers, seeing as how they usually don lucha libre masks and inappropriately short Boy Scout uniforms for performances ... if they opt for clothing at all. The quartet will celebrate its new album with a show at the Bunkhouse on April 10 with Monster Zero, The Black Jetts, The Bitters and Brant Bjork & The Bros. The Mapes’ 10-track self-titled disc boasts several song titles too intense to print, but look forward to hearing tracks like “Baby Ate My Dingo” and “I Hope You’re Just Getting Fat,” an ode to girlfriends who’d better not be pregnant.
