Normally I am a fairly judicious photographer. Who has the time, or desire, to wade through hundreds of photos when a dozen will work? Besides, I started with film, when each click of the shutter cost money, and old habits are hard to break.
But sometimes I get overwhelmed by what I am witnessing through my lens and I just can’t stop shooting. Last Saturday night at the Burlesque Hall of Fame Weekend’s Tournament of Tease, I found myself in that situation. The beauty, talent and sensuality ... How can one not take a photo when it’s handed to you on a rhinestone-and-beaded platter?
After four hours of amazing performances, I was left with the task of editing over 3,000 images on Sunday. It sure beat watching NASCAR or doing yard work.
