Punk rock revivalists Rancid took to the stage at The Joint last night and showed Las Vegas that while they themselves may be older, wiser and more responsible, their tattoos and punk rock cred have withstood the test of time.
The group gave fans new and old a taste of the familiar and somewhat foreign, sampling tracks from their first and latest records and everything in between.
The all-ages crowd rocked out, moshed about, and crowd surfed to an hour-long set of the band’s punk rock anthems, including “Salvation” from their breakout release, Let's Go, and the well-received single that came one year later, "Ruby Soho."
The energetic and very visual show was complimented by video samplings from Steve McQueen’s classic 1968 Bay Area film, Bullitt.
Bandmates Tim Armstrong, Matt Freeman, Lars Frederiksen, and Branden Steineckert are currently touring with headliners Rise Against and Canadian up-and-coming openers Billy Talent in support of their latest studio album, Let the Dominoes Fall, which was released last month.
