The deadline is fast approaching to submit film entries for the 2009 festival, running this summer from June 10-15: All submissions must be in by March 1. The open call for entries includes eight categories, including Area 52, aimed at films that defy normal explanation or categorization, Nevada Filmmaking, which showcases work from local filmmakers and Pioneer Documentaries, a competitive category for new docs produced in the U.S.
The festival describes itself on its Web site as “a platform for artists and art lovers who are drawn to the edge.” If that sounds like you - and you’ve got a film that you’d like to show off - now’s the time to act. Submit your film for consideration before time runs out.
