Corner Bar Management has acquired the La Comida restaurant space on Sixth Street Downtown and is planning to debut a new concept called La Mona Rosa very soon. Executive chefs Daniel Arias and Isidro Marquez-Castillo, also in the kitchen at Corner Bar’s Peyote restaurant at Fergusons Downtown, will curate a new menu celebrating Mexico’s diversity and robust flavors.

Meráki Greek Grill has opened its latest restaurant in Centennial Hills (at Centennial Center and Oso Blanco) and is planning to open two more locations in Henderson, one by the end of the month at Stephanie and American Pacific and another at St. Rose and Spencer in mid-2023. Each venue will continue to serve the traditional Greek fare that has made Meráki one of the most popular neighborhood eateries in the Valley.

Nevada Vegan Restaurant Week is in full swing through November 7 and Crossroads Kitchen at Resorts World is offering a special three-course menu ($45) featuring chef Tal Ronnen’s signature flavors. Hearts of palm crab cake with horseradish aioli, charred fennel orange salad with avocado and creamy polenta with house-made grilled Italian sausage make up the menu, and each purchase equals a donation to Compassion Works International, a local organization that fights for animal rights.

Ike’s Love & Sandwiches is celebrating its 15th anniversary this month by offering two throwback sandwiches from its very first menu in the Castro District in San Francisco, complete with turn-back-the-clock prices. On November 3-6, the Elvis Kieth (halal chicken, teriyaki, wasabi mayo, Swiss cheese and Dirty Sauce) and the Handsome Owl (a vegetarian version with vegan chicken) are both available for $7.97 at all Ike’s locations.

The Sunset Park’d Food Truck Festival returns to Sunset Park on November 5 from noon until 8 p.m., featuring more than 30 local food trucks and restaurants, alcohol tastings, live music, pro wrestling exhibitions, carnival rides and more. Admission and parking are free, and the event will also include the new Vegan Village featuring popular plant-based vendors from Las Vegas and California. For more information, visit sunsetparkd.com.

Ferraro’s Ristorante is offering a five-course white truffle dinner on November 12 at 6:30 p.m. featuring wine pairings and rare Italian white truffles. Among the dishes are Champagne risotto with caviar, prime beef tartare, and egg yolk pasta in Capone broth with soft-boiled egg and fresh white truffles. Tickets are $250 and available by calling 702-364-5300.

Evel Pie has unleashed a new hot food challenge called the Reaper. The spicy pizza is made with habanero chile sauce, chili pepper-infused mozzarella, sriracha-marinated chorizo, Carolina Reaper chili oil and slice habaneros, and the 20-inch pie is served flaming. The price is $49.99 but anyone who can finish at least three slices in 30 minutes receives a “Don’t Fear the Reaper” T-shirt, social media shout-outs and their name carved into a plaque on the Evel Pie Wall of Legends. A legal waiver must be signed before participation.

After all that spice, you’ll need to cool off. Shake Shack has introduced its seasonal holiday shake flavors, available at all locations—Christmas Cookie, Chocolate Milk & Cookies, and Chocolate Peppermint topped with candy cane sprinkles.

Capriotti’s is offering a limited-time Golden Cheese Steak sandwich on its menu through December 31, a classic cheesesteak or American Wagyu beef cheesesteak topped with signature Liquid Gold sauce, with hints of honey mustard and smoked hickory barbecue sauce.
