Get ready for the evolution of The Goodwich. The popular Downtown sandwich spot is building a second location in the southwest at Buffalo and Warm Springs, in the same new center that will house new restaurants from Fukuburger, Fist of Fusion and Jogasaki Burrito. The new Goodwich should open in December or January and will be about 50 percent bigger than its predecessor, and offer full service instead of counter service only, a patio and a bar serving beer and wine. Owner Josh Clark says all your favorites will stay on the menu at Goodwich the sequel, but new dishes will be popping up, too.

The Palms shuttered many of its best-known venues very suddenly last week. In addition to restaurants N9NE Steakhouse and China House, rooftop nightclub Ghostbar, live-music spot the Lounge and center bar Social all closed on September 6 to allow for new construction to take place, according to an email from a Palms spokesperson. Nove Italiano will be open seven days a week during this transition, and a “best of” N9NE Steakhouse menu created by longtime chef Barry Dakake will be added to the Nove menu later this month. In regards to a Vital Vegas blog post reporting that celebrity chef Michael Symon is set to open a new restaurant at the off-Strip resort, the Palms notes: “We do not comment on speculation and rumors. We will look forward to sharing any and all additional news about the Palms’ new offerings when plans are solidified.”

La Flor de Michoacán has opened a new location serving its 20-plus flavors of ice cream, ice cream bars, popsicles, milkshakes and aguas frescas at Texas Station.

Burger stronghold Holsteins at the Cosmopolitan has launched a brunch menu—available Saturday and Sunday from 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.—featuring items such as avocado toast with tomatillo sauce and Asian pear; an egg sandwich with bacon, potato, American cheese and tomato confit; chilaquiles with queso fresco, avocado aioli and lime crema with steak or chicken; and the Billionaire Steak dish, with a New York strip, fingerling potatoes, foie gras, truffle Hollandaise and eggs any style.

You can’t have hockey without nachos. Nacho Daddy is an official sponsor of the Vegas Golden Knights and online voting is happening now (at Facebook.com/NachoDaddyLV) to determine the official Golden Knights nacho. Will it be Cheesesteak Nacho, with marinated filet mignon, provolone, yellow queso, sautéed onions, mushrooms, and red and green and pickled peppers? Or will it be Poutine Nacho, with French fries smothered in brown gravy, yellow queso, crispy cheese curds and green onion? You decide.
