The Georgia sons’ MySpace page lists three primary influences: On the Beach (a Neil Young album), Meddle (Pink Floyd) and Bleach (Nirvana). We might have guessed those for ourselves a couple of spins through this debut LP, a fairly intriguing fusion of alt-country, psychedelia and grunge, set against a Southern-rock background. Sure, Drivin N Cryin did it a couple of decades back (minus the Floydian trip), but the statute of limitations on that patent expired a while ago.
