Coheed and Cambria
Good Apollo I'm Burning Star IV, Volume One: From Fear Through the Eyes of Madness (2.5 stars)

Perhaps the world's only prog-emo band, Coheed and Cambria combine the baroque tendencies of Rush with the angst and sing-along choruses of the Used, writing intricate, dense songs with only occasional hooks. C&C's third album brings in more classic rock and metal influences, and features several songs over the seven-minute mark. It's impressively ambitious, but like much prog rock, a little too cold and intellectual to be enjoyed outside of its dedicated geek fan base.

"We made a pact that we would put stuff on [the DVD] that doesn't necessarily show us in the best light. We didn't want to edit the stuff out that someone might find embarrassing. So, that now when we watch the finished project, we are wondering what the hell we were thinking."
