The Gold Lounge, Aria, $24

Created by Light Group mixologist Ken Hall, the Gold Lounge’s signature cocktail “has a light and refreshing flavor that has a great balance between sweet, sour and bitter,” Hall says. A kind of fortuitous afterthought, the last-minute addition of the orange/vanilla foam provides an ideal and sturdy (not to mention delicious) backdrop for a liberal sprinkle of genuine, edible gold flakes. A cocktail fit for The King.

Ingredients

2 oz. Grey Goose Vodka

1 oz. Grand Marnier

1 oz. fresh lemon juice

.75 oz. simple syrup

.75 oz. egg white

2 dashes Angostura Orange Bitters

Method: Combine ingredients in a shaker with ice. Shake well and strain into a chilled cocktail glass. Top with house-made orange/vanilla foam and flamed orange zest and sprinkle with 24K gold flakes.

House-made orange/vanilla foam: Ken Hall guards his secret recipe closely but he did give the Weekly the shopping list for his 24K cocktail’s luxurious foam topping. Depending on the size NO2 dessert whipper you choose, combine orange juice, egg whites, rock candy syrup, orange bitters, Licor 43 and Grand Marnier according to any standard foam recipe.
