A couple of new parties have popped up on the radar. Crazy Horse III launched the monthly Neon Flow this Wednesday with DJ C-LA on the decks. Expect DJ Shift on October 30, SKAM Artist DJ OB-ONE on November 20 and SKAM’s DJ Five on December 11. At Light, Blow Out industry night kicks off on Wednesday, September 25 with Nicky Romero. And over at 1 Oak, Supacalifrajilisticexpiala Dope Sh*t makes “industry night” a mouthful starting next Tuesday, September 24, with Australian DJ duo Stafford Brothers. Finally, on September 14, the Mirage club debuted a new Saturday afterhours promo called Ended Up, with DJ Neva serving as resident and the party starting at 2:30 a.m.
Happy birthday, PBR Rock Bar. The Strip-side watering hole will—hang on tight!—reveal the name of its new mechanical bull during a special third-anniversary party September 26. More reasons to celebrate: an ice booze luge and $5 Pinnacle Vodka cocktails.
In celeb spottings over the weekend: Dave Chappelle partied with Nas, celebrating the latter’s 40th birthday at Tao on Saturday. The Jonas Brothers celebrated Nick’s 21st Sunday at XS, posting up with headlining DJ Avicii. And everyone showed up at the fight on Saturday night—including Justin Bieber, who (again) escorted winner Floyd Mayweather to the ring. —Jorge Labrador
Lavo is looking for a fresh coat of paint. The club has put out a call for artists to design a new mural to replace the one currently near the DJ booth and VIP area (depicting a woman in a bathhouse), with prizes at stake for the top submission and the two highest-voted contestants.
